Gordon Bermant

Gordon Bermant, Ph.D., J.D.

Gordon Bermant is a consultant in private practice in the areas of strategic research, planning, and technology development. Gordon received a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Harvard University and a J.D. from George Mason University. He is a member of the Virginia Bar.

He was with the Federal Justice Center in Washington, D.C. for 21 years, where he held several positions including Deputy Director of Research (1980-1982), Director of Innovations & Systems Development (1982-1986), and Director of Planning and Technology (1992-1997). He has taught at the University of California at Davis and the University of Washington and currently lectures at the University of Pennsylvania. Gordon managed Judicial Center technologists when they developed the Integrated Case Management System which, despite its advanced age, continues to be the workhorse of the federal system. His current interests include strategic planning for the future of technology in justice systems.

He is the author of "Courting the Virtual: Federal Courts in an Age of Complete Inter-Connectedness."
